The St. Joseph's Home is a facility for children, youth, and people with disabilities located in East Setauket, NY.


In our
Therapeutic Children and Youth Home, which includes inclusive spaces, we care for 19 children and youth between the ages of approximately 3-18 in three residential groups.


In our
Therapeutic Day Care for preschool-aged children, we care for 8 children between the ages of approximately 3 years old and school entry.


We are currently seeking a
Psychologist (m/f/d) for our Psychological Services Department for 30 hours per week, starting on September 1, 2023 or later.

The hours are divided as follows:22 hours for the Therapeutic Children and Youth Home
8 hours for the Therapeutic Day Care for preschool-aged children


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosis and therapeutic planning.
  • Documentation and report writing.
  • Crisis intervention and needsbased therapeutic intervention.
  • Counseling families in the spirit of a partnership in raising children.
  • Providing professional advice to group staff and management.
  • Facilitating case teams in consultation with management.
  • Participating in the admission process.
  • Assisting in the development of the concept.
  • Acting as a "qualified professional" according to § 8a SGB VIII.

We expect:

  • A successfully completed degree in psychology (diploma, master).
  • A completed or advanced additional training (e.g. child and adolescent
