Specialized duties across departments may include:

  • Processing requests submitted from the media, attorneys, and government agencies by reviewing reports for release and completing redactions of personal identifying information in accordance with Arizona Public Records Law, City Rules and Regulations, Police Department Operation Orders, and Bureau Procedures.
  • Performing specialized clerical work which involves receiving, processing, and maintaining information related to the City's Alarm Ordinance.
  • Assisting the public with records requests, fingerprints, processing traffic accident reports, and issuing oversize load permits.
  • Providing high volume customer service contact over the telephone and inperson, at times under challenging circumstances.
  • Responding to information requests from Phoenix Police and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Researching data that is maintained in department, state, and national law enforcement databases.
  • Conducting precise data entry and proficiently navigating diverse databases and software programs.
  • Proficiently managing payments, conducting account reconciliation, and updating payment records.
  • Assisting in the daily mail distribution to various city facilities.
  • Notifying alarm users about instances of false alarm activation ́s.
  • Coding data accurately into various computer databases.
  • Sorting and logging departmental and supplemental reports.
  • Maintaining consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Processing requests for background checks.
  • Rectifying any missing or incorrectly coded data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Working schedule and location may vary depending on a department's specialized duty and assignment.


IDEAL CANDIDATE:


  • Ability to type at a minimum of 30 wpm and work in a fastpaced environment that requires multitasking.
  • Willing to work in a 24/7 operation, including any shift/weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to operate a City vehicle in various areas within Metropolitan Phoenix to complete assigned tasks and must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of various law enforcement databases (i.e., RMS, CAD, ACIC, NCIC, and ACJIS).
  • Knowledge of offense codes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Police terminology.

SALARY:


Pay Range:
$19.54 to $33.41 per hour.

Hiring Range:
$19.54 to $24.93 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • One year of clerical experience.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
