The Finance Department is seeking a dedicated professional to fill an Accountant II vacancy in the Financial Accounting and Reporting Division (FAR).
This division provides current, comprehensive, and accurate information about the financial position of the City to both internal and external customers, while maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
Some areas of responsibility include preparing financial reports and forecasts for very diverse activities, water and wastewater, federal grants, pooled cash and investments, and internal cost allocations.
The Accountant II will be working in the Fiduciary Reporting section and assisting in other areas within the FAR Division, as needed.
This position is responsible for a diverse range of finance-related duties that includes various accounting functions, while also operating with multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing, reviewing, and recording accounting transactions.
- Coordinating and preparing annual financial reports.
- Providing technical guidance and analysis to management on complex financial matters.
- Submitting requests to process the daily, weekly & monthly wires/ACH's to pay vendors for claims.
- Preparing journal entries in SAP for the preparation of release and posting of expenses and Recognition of Revenue.
- Making bank account deposits.
- Monitoring the City's Fiduciary Reporting for correctness of postings and the preparation of various Fiduciary Fund financial reporting schedules for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
- Preparing and analyzing Quarterly Budgetary Financial Reports, as assigned.
- Preparing monthly Fiduciary Financial Statements.
- Conducting research and analysis, as needed.

- Knowledge of financial statement and reporting.
- Ability to:
- Work independently and in a fastpaced heavy customer service environment.
- Efficiently manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and be able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Interact with other internal departments.
- Excellent problemsolving skills,
- Strong research and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and financial software such as SAP.
SALARY:
Pay Range:
$55, $100,235.20 annually.
Hiring Range:
$55, $86,590.40 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years of professional level experience in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
