Description

Maintenance helpers assist maintenance technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and machinery.

Core Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

Maintain tools & equipment
Organizing and handling of maintenance supplies and materials
Prepare the work area for the job to be performed (ladders, lifts, tools etc.)
Cleaning of the work area, shop, and maintenance storage areas
Perform routine building maintenance duties (painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC maintenance etc.)
Perform daily maintenance check lists and report statuses to supervisor
Work with and oversee contracted vendors
Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues
Provide assistance to skilled workers performing installation, adjustment, maintenance, parts replacement, and repairs
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to get a facility agent card
2+ years of relevant job experience
Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and electric meters
General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors

Physical Requirements:

Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hands with repetitive motions
Frequently requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials
Frequently stooping, bending, and reaching
Must work indoors and outdoors yearround
Must work in noisy and crowded environments
Observe, see, hear, and respond to directions given with effective outcome
Lift 2550 pounds from the floor to a waisthigh table when necessary
Crouch & bend often throughout
Stand for short / long periods of time
Sit for short / long periods of time
Walk for short / long periods of time
Occasionally sit on the floor or at floor level
Frequent use of hands doing all sorts of repetitious motions
Handle the responsibilities and routine stress often associated with this position
Must be able to use all PPE equipment for each department
Must be able to do physical labor in all types of environments such as the airconditioned rooms within the facility as well as the heat of the greenhouse which can be over 100 degrees with high humidity

Certifications or Training Requirements:

Complete New Hire Orientation & Safety Training
Additional trainings as assigned by management
