Job
Description:
The
Head
of
Manufacturing
Operations
oversees
the
build-out
of
finished
goods
manufacturing
and
packaging at our 35K sq foot facility in Tempe, Arizona. This leader plans and directs all manufacturing
aspects of our vertically integrated operations. The Head of Manufacturing directly impacts the
development
and
implementation
of
efficient
operations
and
cost-effective
systems
to
meet
current
and
future
growth
requirements
of
the
organization.
Core
Responsibilities:
Lead
workflow
development
as
we
work
on
completing
the
buildout
of
the
manufacturing facility.
Oversee and streamline all manufacturing/production and distribution processes to drive scale, labor efficiency,
and minimize risk.
Own talent
management
for the
facility including
but
not limited
to
hiring
the
team,
employee development,
employee
performance
reviews,
and
succession planning.
Assess and
oversee the feasibility and implementation
of production/manufacturing lines and
requirements to drive large-scale production for existing and new products including packaging.
Plan and set schedules for all production/manufacturing operations to meet ongoing product
fulfillment
and
new
product
development needs.
Participate in the demand planning process across cultivation and manufacturing to meet the
needs
of
our
retail
and
wholesale business.
Partner
with
the
finance
team
to
help
develop
and
own
operational
financial budgets.
Set
KPIs
and
build
accountability
across
the facility to drive profitability and growth.
Ensure
facility
decisions
and
project
plans
are
in
line
with
the
strategic
direction and KPIs set.
Ensure proper training is developed, provided consistently and in alignment with all Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compliance requirements.
Ensure safety and security protocols are followed and make recommendations on safety and
security where appropriate.
Other
duties
as assigned.
Required
Skills/Abilities:
Cannabis
factory management and operational experience is preferred.
In-depth
knowledge
of
Trimming/Packaging/Extraction
Lab operations.
Lean
manufacturing experience.
Project
and budget management skills with full P&L responsibility.
Analytical
problem-solving
skills
with
an
impeccable
attention
to detail
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure
Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the cannabis industry
or adjacent industry.
Ability
to
analyze
large
datasets,
consolidate, and write comprehensive
Highly
proficient
with
Microsoft
Office
Suite
and
related
Qualifications
and
Education:
Must
be at
least
21
years
of
Must
be
able
to
pass
a
background
check
in
order
to
obtain,
and
maintain,
a
Facility
Agent card in
accordance
with
Arizona
State
Department
of
Health
Services
requirements.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field is
10+
years
of
industry-related
experience in similar roles is required
