Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Manager-Development.


The Assistant Manager, Strategic Operations reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Operations, is responsible for managing operations and a full range of activities relating to strategic areas central to continued accelerated growth and intensified efforts helping to ensure that the overall fundraising team has optimal systems and support in place to meet and exceed the overall office goal, while concurrently sustaining a culture of heightened philanthropy.

Strategic areas include (but are not limited to capital donor naming opportunities and signage across all NYU Langone Health System sites and named endowed positions.

This position will interface with teams across the Health System, including Real Estate Development & Facilities (RED+F), Faculty Affairs, and multiple teams throughout the Office of Development.


Responsibilities:


  • In conjunction with Senior Director, works with RED+F, AVP of Giving, and Gift Officers to create and maintain pricing structure for capital naming opportunities across the health system and serves as strategic partner with Gift Officers to identify appropriate capital naming opportunities for donors.
  • In conjunction with Senior Director, fosters effective and strong relationships and serves as a daytoday liaison between Development and internal and external partners including RED+F and tracks and moves forward related items.
  • Maintains named endowed position information, serves as daytoday liaison with faculty affairs, and in conjunction with the Senior Director, develops and maintains all related policy, process, and trainings.
  • Serves as autonomous project manager for crossteam projects related to strategic areas.
  • Develops, implements, and documents related new policies, administrative systems, processes, templates and controls that enable streamlined endtoend workflows, maximize available resources and increase transparency and internal communication.
  • Development and maintenance of operating manual which details related best practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a

  • Bachelor's degree and 46+ years of gift or grant administration experience.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  • Ability to change priorities in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of diverse public.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High level of energy, initiative, and creativity.
  • Selfmotivated, outgoing, and results oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required.
4-6+ years of relevant experience in a development or administrative setting.
Driven self-starter, with a desire to learn and develop expertise in strategic areas.
Organizational skills to handle several projects simultaneously, accommodate shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Adaptable and flexible to ever-evolving schedules.
Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
Outstanding resourcefulness and creative approach to problem solving.
Ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally across the Development department, other NYULH departments, and external contractors or vendors.
