DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
- As a Property Casualty Insurance Actuary 2, you will perform advanced property and casualty (P&C) actuarial analysis to ensure that the bureau meets its statutory and regulatory obligations. This role applies actuarial and statistical principles and methods that relate to the analysis and evaluation of complex insurance rates, rating procedures, rating plans, statistics, and rules for property and casualty rate filings. This responsibility is essential in ensuring that proposed rates are not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory and that rules comply with state and federal laws.
This position requires extensive research of laws, regulations, legal decisions, positions, and historical data to review positions, propose new positions, and adjust to changing industry practices as it relates to the review and analysis of P&C rate and rule filings.
Excellent communication skills are utilized to train or assist with training Actuary Is, Actuarial Associates, Actuarial Associate Trainees, and intern staff, to include sharing actuarial skills, evolving P&C actuarial issues, and information from exams, seminars, webinars, literature, or other available resources.

- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 60minute lunch.
- Work schedule is flexible based upon operational need.
Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, however you must report to the office one day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Property and Casualty Insurance Actuary 1;
or: - Successful completion of five parts of the Casualty Actuarial Society examination program;
or: - Four years of property and/or casualty actuarial experience; and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in mathematics or statistics;
or: - Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
