The firm has over four decades of experience providing data-informed solutions across the social service sector. Metis supports its clients' missions and pridefully builds their capacity with its knowledge, skills, and technical expertise. The firm seeks Grant Writers to support current and future client needs. Grant-writing clients include public school districts, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and other public-privateentities. OverviewQualifications are requested from professional, experienced grant writers.Metis's goal is to identify a pool of qualified grant writers contracted on a project basis to assist clients in pursuing government grants, primarily from federal agencies.
Metis will consider qualified contractors for one or more upcoming projects, depending on client needs, contractor experience, and availability.RequirementsThe Grant Writers selected would serve as consultants to Metis Associates and help shape initial program designs/grant concepts and produce, revise, and prepare draft and final proposals for submission to government agencies on behalf of the firm's clients.
The Grant Writer will meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering from other contributors.The Grant Writer will work closely with Metis senior leadership, team members, and clients to submit funding proposals responsive to grant guidelines and deadlines.
Qualified contractors will have a demonstrated record of successful grant applications submitted to federal agencies such as the US Department of Education, the US Department of Health and Human Services, the US Department of Labor, the US Department of Justice, and the National Science Foundation.
Candidates must have excellent organizational, research, and time management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have previous experience engaging effectively with senior managers, researchers/evaluators, program-level leaders, and client delivery staff during the proposal design, development, and review phases.
Candidates should demonstrate solid analytical and advanced writing skills.QualificationsTo be considered, candidates must meet all of the following qualifications:
At least seven years of federal grant writing experience.
A proven track record in grant writing, including at least five successful federal grant submissions within the past three years.
Excellent research and data skills (e.g., U.S. Census American Community Survey, National Center for Education Statistics, neighborhood-level crime statistics).Exceptional writing skillsStrong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
In addition, a GPC certification is a plusSubmittal InstructionsInterested Grant Writers are requested to submit a Statement of Qualifications, including the following:1.
A specific list of successful federal or state agency grant applications you have written over the past three years and for which clients4.
