Job Summary:
Behavioral Health non profit organization is seeking a Grant Writer with experience in behavioral healthcare.
We are a behavioral health non-profit firm based in Brooklyn, NY that provides nationwide mental health therapy, counseling, and casework services to need-based communities in New York City for children and adults.
An applicant will play a pivotal role in securing funding for behavioral health and human services providers through successful grant writing while demonstrating expertise in crafting compelling proposals for state and federal funding.
Duties:
- Demonstrate success in grant writing for state and federal funding notifications targeting behavioral health and human services, collaborating with agencies such as SAMHSA, DOJ/BJA, CMS, HRSA, ACF, DOE, and other relevant entities;ACF, DOE, and other relevant entities;
- Write, edit, and submit highquality grant proposals
- Research funding opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs
- Collaborate with various departments to gather information for proposals
- Manage grant reporting requirements and deadlines
- Maintain a database of grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with all grant regulations and requirements
Requirements:
- Possess an advanced degree in social work, psychology, education, public administration, public health, or a related field;
- The grant writer should have experience in Mental Health grant writing for needbased grants and have a proven track record of awards.
- Demonstrate specific expertise in working with underserved populations for a minimum duration of 2 to 5 years.
- Strong research skills to identify funding sources
- Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial report writing
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of contract management processes is a plus
- Familiarity with databases for tracking grants and reporting
