Arts and Crafts Specialist

Overview:

Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp offers a traditional camp experience in the heart of Manhattan at two locations - the Upper East Side and Battery Park City.

We focus on building confidence, character, and community.

In addition to our active program Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp offers a wonderful Arts program. The Art Specialist will lead age-appropriate lessons for each of our camp groups ranging in age 4-13yrs old.

Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with Head of Arts to finalize weekly ageappropriate lesson plans for each age group.
Work in conjunction with co
Art Specialist to carry out preplanned lesson plans for each group 23 times per week.
Lead art activities for each camper group
Communicate with group counselors, needs of the lesson and delegate responsibilities.
Work with Head of Arts (HoA) and Program Manager to order supplies needed for activities.
Prep materials for projects in advance of activities
Work with HoA on campuswide projects
Participate in campuswide special events and theme days.

NOTE:
Camp runs
from Thursday, June 27 to Friday, August 16 (no camp July 4 & 5).

Camp staff are required to be on the premises by 8:00 am and the day is over by 4:45 pm.

A full summer commitment is required.

All summer camp employees are required to attend orientation the evenings of June 17, 18 and 20 and Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23.

This position will require lesson planning and activity preparation prior the start of camp.
