The New York Philharmonic seeks an
Accounts Payable Specialist to coordinate the day-to-day administrative functions of accounts payable.

The position is the lead on vendor set-up and maintenance, invoice and expense report review for documentation appropriateness and compliance to internal policies and governmental requirements and will coordinate with budge managers to correct missing information.

Some data-entry required.


Responsibilities:


  • Daytoday accounts payable inquiries and research, including answering interdepartmental questions about policies and documentation requirements.
  • Assist with timely preparation of supporting schedules and materials for the annual financial audit.
  • Track corporate credit card expense report submission and approval progress.
  • Coordinate staledate check communications with payee.
  • Assist with annual 1099 and 1042 tax form preparation and distribution.
  • Deposit incoming checks using remote check scanner, or inperson as needed.
  • Assist Human Resources with postretirement benefits paperwork.
  • Occasional departmental administrative support (scheduling meetings, distributing team mail, assistance with property insurance claims).

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience with an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.

Basic Microsoft Office proficiency, especially in Excel and Outlook, basic understanding of GAAP requirements, experience with Sage Intacct, and Nexonia a plus.
