About the Role

The Accounting Manager is a key member of the finance team, leading the accounting staff and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. This position reports directly to the Controller and requires strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and budget proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all general ledger activity, ensuring accurate and timely financial recordkeeping.
  • Lead, train, and develop accounting personnel, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Review and analyze monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and account activity to ensure accurate closing.
  • Analyze monthly variance reports to identify trends and support management in evaluating financial performance.
  • Review key financial indicators and statistics, providing insights for informed decision-making.
  • Assist senior leadership with financial information requests and inquiries.
  • Participate in the development and review of annual budgets, performance projections, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Collaborate directly with department heads and executive management on financial matters.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial data and sensitive information.
  • Ensure adherence to all processing and reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare financial accounting and/or audit.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred, with demonstrably strong review skills.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
