    North Oaks Communities LLC is a premier senior living community in Pikesville, Maryland. We are seeking an engaging, customer-focused, hospitality driven Dining Room Manager to join our Food and Beverage team

    General Summary: The Dining Room Manager is responsible for the overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of the dining area and server station and ensuring that courteous and efficient services are delivered to create a satisfying, fine dining experience for North Oaks residents and guests.

    Essential Duties:

    1. Supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including pedestals, chairs, rugs, drapes, flooring, light fixtures, etc.

    2. Supervises the appearance of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, etc.

    3. Schedules work assignments for all dining room personnel assigning specific jobs and spot-checking to ensure standards and Hospitality Promises are met.

    4. Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, reports, files, schedules and studies.

    5. Advises Director of Food & Beverage regarding dining room status.

    6. In coordination with the Director of Food & Beverage, is responsible for planning, hiring, scheduling, training, supervising, and counseling dining room personnel.

    7. Provides the Director of Food & Beverage with the development, implementation and maintenance of written dining room service objectives and standards of practice with procedures for implementation.

    8. In conjunction with the Director of Food & Beverage develops and updates an orientation and education plan for new hires and ongoing education for existing staff.

    9. Assures that staff education is provided to dining room personnel in accordance with the staff education plans, plus provides on the job training for dining room personnel.

    10. Ensures that dining room service is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel.

    11. Assists Food and Beverage Director in preparing menus and preparing meals accordingly.

    12. Plans and assists in preparation of special needs for parties, banquets, etc.

    Other Duties:

    1. Maintains a safe environment for residents, guests and staff.

    2. Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness.

    3. Participates in cost control measures.

    4. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

    5. Is available for emergencies to assure continued food service to residents and employees.

    6. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

    7. Observes all safety rules and regulations.

    8. HIPAA Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information.

    9. OIG Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.

    10. Interacts with residents and coworkers in a friendly and respectful manner.

    Qualifications:

    1. A minimum of two years supervisory experience in "front and back of the house operations" within restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution.

    2. Excellent communication, interpersonal and social skills in order to work effectively with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.

    3. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.

    4. Compliance with North Oaks Influenza Vaccination Policy is required for this position for all North Oaks employees. Please refer to the policy for details. All North Oaks employees may access the North Oaks Vaccination Policy via their Human Resources representative or Executive Director.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

    Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday. Ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
