- Spearheads the planning and implementation of the Fontana Center's national public tours which seeks to sensitize hundreds of college student's awareness about the harms of child abuse and neglect.
- Planning and facilitating CAPP parenting programs for parents in NYC public schools.
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of the Center's Art Collaborative, which supports adolescents living in foster homes to tell their life stories through art and other forms of expression.
- Responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Fontana Center's Student Youth Initiative, a group of volunteer college students dedicated to assisting the Fontana Center in the implementation of its many programs.
- Manage and continuously enhance the Center's social media presence and efforts to increase the public's awareness about the harms of child abuse and neglect.
- Responsible for working with the Center's Director of Research to design and implement practice related research that will improve the well-being of children at-risk for child abuse and neglect.
- Partners with universities and nationally-recognized experts to develop practice-related research that will improve child welfare practice at The Foundling and around the nation. Research priorities include psychological maltreatment, foster parent training, and mental health services to children who have experienced trauma.
- Responsible for designing, planning and implementation the Center's online and live conferences and workshops including the Foundling's Annual Conference, the Hearst Program, the Foundling's and APSAC's workshop series and national conferences, the APSAC-NY and Foundling's workshop series and all NIECP, PMA, NYSIPCSA conferences and workshops.
- Organize advocacy campaign efforts such as letter writing, phone calls, and position papers.
- Maintain and move forward The Fontana Center's position as the lead agency in the New York State Initiative to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and the National Initiative to End Corporal Punishment, as well as one of the supporting founding partners in the Psychological Maltreatment Alliance
- Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the partnership with the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) and Center partnerships with other child abuse organizations.
- Responsible for developing the Center's annual budget.
- Responsible for the supervision of the Fontana Center's team.
- Other duties as necessary to support the Fontana Center's goals and activities.
- Regular and punctual time and attendance, and adherence to The Foundling's and your department's specific time and attendance policies and protocol.

- Appropriate engagement with support departments to ensure appropriate and timely hiring, performance management, investigation, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions concerning direct reports. Regular supervision and performance evaluation of direct reports.

- Master's Degree Ph. D preferred.
- Min of 10 years experience in the field of child welfare and child maltreatment.
- At least seven years of programmatic experience working in the field of child abuse and neglect prevention.
- At least five years of administrative experience.
- Experience working with other national child abuse organizations and national leaders.
- Excellent advocacy skills and knowledge of social media as a way of reaching out to the public about the harms of child maltreatment.

New York Foundling's Vincent J. Fontana Center for Child Protection is a nationally known leader in the prevention of child maltreatment. The Center seeks to prevent child abuse and neglect before it occurs and it promotes the well-being of at-risk children through advocacy, professional development, public education, research and partnering with other like organizations and national leaders. The Fontana Center extends the mission of the New York Foundling by engaging in the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Position Description:
