Under direct supervision, negotiates and purchases goods and services necessary for company operations.

Is responsible for negotiating and purchasing goods and services in order to reduce material and supply costs, improve service and reliability of delivery, and promote long term working relationships with preferred suppliers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS-Buyer I

  • Review purchase requisitions of simple to moderate complexity for accuracy and determine priorities. (Essential)
  • Run MRP and analyze, verify, recommend purchase and place purchase orders to vendors and suppliers for both US and EC (Ebara Corporation in Japan) (Essential)
  • Purchase simple to moderately complex goods or services using provided catalogs and reference materials. (Essential)
  • Handle work Orders, and replacement and/or repair order management. (Essential)
  • Confer with suppliers to determine factors that affect price and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and schedules. (Essential)
  • Add new and/or update vendor information into Finesse ERP system, manage vendor payment or billing with A/P, Purchase Order maintenance (open PO Report), check PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and report to Accounting. Work with Logistics and Receiving to ensure correct receipt of parts and timely delivery. (Essential)
  • Within purchasing guidelines investigate, recommend, and negotiate partnerships with suppliers in accordance with the Supplier Partnership Program. (Essential)
  • Complies with EBARA safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. (Essential)
  • Maintains clean and safe working environment compliant with EBARA safety policies. (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (Non-Essential)

ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS-SOM Rep

  • Responsible for processing orders for materials or merchandise from direct customer contact. (Essential)
  • Tracks and monitors orders for customers and sales personnel. (Essential)
  • Maintains customer files with sales purchase order, sales order and other information. (Essential)
  • Complies with EBARA safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. (Essential)
  • Maintains clean and safe working environment compliant with EBARA safety policies. (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (Non-Essential)

Education

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Zero (0)
  • Four (4) years work related experience, preferably in a hightech manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of general policies and procedures.
  • Strong Customer Relations skills.***
    SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Working knowledge of computer systems including software packages such as Microsoft Office 97 and Internet Explorer.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite especially MS Excel
  • Sufficient PC skills to manage information and to prepare reports and presentations without support.
  • Working knowledge of Supply Line Management. Working knowledge of ISO 9000 procedures and standards. Working knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
  • Strong relationship building skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customer.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • EC buyers
- bilingual in Japanese

  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
