The Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital Dresden is the interdisciplinary intensive care unit of the clinics for visceral, thoracic and vascular surgery; orthopedics, trauma and plastic surgery; and neurosurgery.

As part of the Center for Surgery, approximately 1,600 patients with surgical and intensive care medical conditions from all surgical specialties, with the exception of cardiac surgery, are treated here each year.

We are currently seeking a


Physician Assistant:

to join our surgical intensive care unit in a full-time or part-time position, with an indefinite contract.

You will be involved in the care of patients from all surgical specialties and support the attending physicians. This includes administrative tasks as well as a high level of independent medical activities.

You will take medical histories, examine patients, change dressings, and serve as an important link in the treatment process for nursing staff, referring physicians, and family members.

You will also be called upon to assist in emergency situations and support the team. In addition, your responsibilities will include internal quality control and documentation of services.


Your profile:


  • Completed training as a Physician Assistant
  • Experience in nursing/caregiving
  • Ability to work in a structured and independent manner, with strong organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm and dedication for surgical intensive care medicine and our clinic
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoyment of working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Previous experience in intensive care medicine is desirable
