The California Workforce Initiative for Support & Education-South (CalWISE-S) Program Supervisor will report to the Southern Site Director and will manage, supervise, and implement projects and tasks consistent with the execution of CalWISE-S's mission and goals.

The CalWISE-S is currently comprised of 10 graduate social work schools, and associated BSW programs, located in Southern California.

In collaboration with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and CalWISE-N, CalWISE-S provides pre-service and in-service support, training, and preparation for social work students and workers at social welfare agencies.

The Program Supervisor will coordinate, implement, supervise and support various analytical and administrative tasks and projects, working under the auspices of the university deans and directors, who set policy direction in concert with public agency leaders.

The CalWISE-S Program Supervisor supports positive relationships with public partners, evaluation, contractual agreements, and keeps CalWISE-S leaders informed about project and task progress, and impending issues.

The CalWISE-S Program Supervisor, under supervision of the Southern Site Director, supervises a Fiscal Manager, Administrative Specialist, and Communications Leads, and works collaboratively with CDSS, CalWISE-N, and other CalWISE-S partners to anticipate needs, coordinate responses, facilitate training, and support a continuous performance improvement program.

The Program Supervisor provides support for developing and continually improving CalWISE-S/CalWISE-N databases and website operations.

The ability to support an enhanced framework for holistic reporting on the accomplishments and impacts of the CALWISE-S is an essential element of the job of the CalWISE-S Director.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience identifying technologies needed to achieve project goals, assessing prospective and existing vendors' technology solutions, coordinating the procurement of technology solutions (required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with policy formulation, implementation, evaluation processes, and crosscultural comparative perspectives on social welfare systems. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to assess priorities and coordinate workflows across projects to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. (required)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as member of a team and dynamic institution. (required)
  • Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and pressure. (required)
  • Skills in initiating, formulating, and implementing social welfare workforce development policies and programs, and analyzing existing policies and propose improvements. (required)

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data related to workforce trends, program effectiveness, and policy impact, and prepare summaries with conclusions and recommendations. (required)

  • Ability to express ideas clearly both orally and in writing, and collaborate with stakeholders, agencies, and partners. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience assembling and supervising moderate to large project teams, designing project plans and scheduling and monitoring budget and resources. (required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (required) Or
  • Project management certification from a reputable organization such as PMP,CSM, ACP to include a qualifying exam and/or quality assurance processes like Six Sigma, or Lean. Upon Hire (preferred) Or
  • Equivalent project management experience. Upon Hire (preferred) Or
  • Valid California driver's license, automobile, and automobile insurance. Upon Hire (required) And

Special Conditions for Employment

  • Occasional travel throughout California to local universities, Training Centers, county offices, and county administrative and training locations; occasionally overnight, and sometimes within the continental United States.
