This position will work a hybrid schedule which is a combination of working on Campus and remote.

DESCRIPTION:


  • This position is hybrid with an anticipated onsite requirement of two days per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problemsolving skills. Has working knowledge of other areas of HR. Ability to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolution(s) that may require creativity or an "out of the box" approach.
  • Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems.
  • Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively. Ability to deescalate the situation/individual and move toward a resolution.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, collaborative, teamoriented environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated competency with and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Must be bilingual. Fluency in English and Spanish required.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:


  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.

  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Position requires being available for incoming phone calls while performing other job duties.
  • This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Annual Full Pay Range:
$61,800 - $108,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)


Hourly Equivalent:
$ $51.72

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
