Scientist or Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d)

in the field of gas analysis
Salary group 13 TVöD Bund, fixed-term for 2 years, full-time 39 hours per week

Doctoral candidates:
Salary group 13 TVöD Bund, fixed-term for 3 years, part-time 33.15 hours per week


Your tasks:
You will support the working group 3.

42 "Spectral Gas Analysis and Reference Data" with the following activities:


  • R&D work for the highly accurate production and analysis of small ammonia impurities in air, natural gas, and hydrogen
  • Quantification of NH3 traces in various gas matrices, including air, H2, CH
  • Highly accurate NH3 detection and metrological characterization of various analyzers (especially laser spectrometers such as CRDS, CEAS, TDLAS, PAS)
  • Planning, implementation, and evaluation of laboratory and field measurements
  • Design, development, optimization, and validation of various NH3 sampling systems and dynamic NH3 dilution systems for the production of variable NH3 mixtures (10 ppb to 1000 ppm) in different matrix gases
  • Implementation, adaptation, validation, and automation of evaluation procedures
  • Presentation and publication of scientific results
