Casting Director (Full time - In Office)

At our LA office we supervise script development through post production for our locally produced vertical short series.

Here, you have the opportunity to expand beyond traditional media and into the world of dynamic, digital, cinematic experience, catering to a generation that craves storytelling that mirrors their scroll-and-swipe reality.


Responsibilities:


  • Create and manage casting announcements for all GoodShort inhouse productions on Casting websites.
  • Read all scripts in order to understand characters, create sides and post casting calls.
  • Schedule and manage the casting process from initial self tape to live auditions and chemistry reads.
  • Maintain a detailed account of each actor's availability and limitations for each production.
  • Make casting decisions along with the production and executive team.
  • Communicate casting decisions to actors and aid with the contracting process.

Requirements:


  • 12 years of related casting experience minimum. Ideally, in an environment with multiple projects casting at once.
  • Experience with general casting websites and have casting resources.
  • Extensive experience with script character breakdowns and effectively selecting audition sides.
  • Knowledge of and experience with casting contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of acting techniques, casting processes, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional professionalism and the ability to communicate effectively with both the creative and their management team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Communication, or Related Field.
  • Comfortability working with actors and directors on a wide range of scenes, including, but not limited to, romantic, emotional, and highstakes dramas.
  • Knowledge of the growing short drama industry (ReelShort, ShortTV, DramaBox, KalosTV etc.).
  • Ability and equipment to work from home if needed.
  • Available to start ASAP.

Pay:
$100, $120,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

  • Los Angeles, CA 90028: Relocate before starting work (required)
