    The Development Operations Manager serves as the Development office data lead, supporting a fast-paced, mission-driven office. This includes working closely with the Director of Philanthropic Strategy to proactively monitor and maintain departmental giving channels and ensure all digital systems are functioning optimally. The Manager will lead departmental utilization of the Raiser's Edge database including data import/export, training and guidance to team members, and creating and maintaining documentation. This role is responsible for all aspects of gift and pledge management ensuring accurate processing and organized record keeping. In partnership with the Director of Philanthropic Strategy this person will oversee operational projects including: annual database rollover; annual endowment reporting; fundraising and financial reporting; prospect research; and portfolio management. Success is determined by attention to detail, knowledge of institutional fundraising policies, accuracy, and efficiency in database use and customer service.

    This is an in-person role with some nights and weekends required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Development Operations
      • Regularly process donations, prepare donor acknowledgement letters, and ensure accurate donor recognition
      • Track and maintain backups for open pledges and generate pledge reminders monthly
      • Track department fundraising performance, including the daily gift report and department report card, and proactively develop additional reporting tools as needed
      • Maintain gift records and regularly review document retention and destruction standards
      • Collaborate with the Business office on audit requests and regular reconciliation for all gifts
      • Serve as the primary department resource for Raiser's Edge, GiveCampus, DonorSearch, and other digital platforms, maintaining up to date knowledge of systems, processes, and best practices as well as providing training and assistance to staff
      • Create and maintain department standard operating procedures
      • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and institutional memory of the school's databases including processing constituent information updates across all constituencies
      • Work with the Director of Philanthropic Strategy to support department portfolio management and drive donor stewardship process
      • Conduct prospect research and create donor profiles for frontline fundraisers utilizing Donor Search and other resources
      • Develop and produce accurate queries, exports, reports, and lists utilizing Raiser's Edge
      • Generate and interpret data in support of department operations and special projects including, but not limited to: communications, endowment reporting, financial reporting, and the annual database rollover
      • Other duties as assigned
    • Office Management support
      • Provide exemplary customer service and respond to all inquiries sent to the general development emails and phone lines in a timely manner
      • Partner with and provide support for: annual giving, major gifts, special events, and board management efforts which may include working occasional evenings or weekends
      • Support alumni relations team with data needs
    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • 3 or more years of database operations experience
    • Experience with customer service, project management, reporting and analysis
    • Knowledge of appropriate gift and pledge recognition standards
    • Prior experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge is highly preferred
    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Organized self-starter, with impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
    • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and effectively pivot from one discipline to the next on a frequent basis
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Collaborative work style with a focus on providing exceptional service across multiple constituencies
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Must have a strong drive for accountability by demonstrating great time management skills and a determination to meet deadlines
    • Strong technical skills with a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
