    The Position

    This is an ongoing application process. The next deadlines are:

    Range A - $5, $6,911.25/month
    Range B - $6, $7,704.72/month

    Under general supervision, responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating health education programs; fostering community development towards health and education objectives; and other assigned duties.

    This role has two salary levels reflecting differences in program size, complexity, and expertise required.

    Range A. Handles programmatic tasks for mid-sized, average complexity health education programs, applying fundamental public health education principles.

    Range B. Limited to high-complexity programs, may lead and focus on community organization, integration of services, and specialized tasks requiring significant expertise and judgment.

    • Employment Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Must hold a Master's degree with a focus on community or public health education from an American Public Health Association-accredited program. Note: The accrediting organization is now the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).

    Special Requirements

  • Must meet prevailing state standards for a Health Educator as per California Code of Regulations, Title 17, and other relevant laws.
  • Some roles require willingness to work with individuals with communicable diseases.
    • Probationary Period

    The probationary period is six (6) months for this position.
