    Responsibilities:

    • Create effective lesson plans catering to various student levels
    • Supervise paraprofessionals and ensure classroom management
    • Implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program
    • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings
    • Maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment
    • Collaborate with staff and external agencies
    • Plan instruction based on data and conduct assessments
    • Engage in professional development activities
    • Regular communication with parents regarding student progress
    • Document and address behavior emergency interventions

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience working with students with special needs
    • Valid CA Special Education Credential
    • Master's degree in special education preferred
    • Educational Specialist Credential in relevant disability areas
    • Previous experience in special day class settings
    • Background clearance and relevant certifications

    Working Environment:

    • Computer-based work with moderate noise levels
    • Frequent physical demands like sitting, standing, and walking
    • Normal range of vision and hearing
