Position Summary:

The Employee Services Generalist manages Leave of Absence programs for 1800+ employees while also maintaining up to date knowledge of the most current laws and

regulations pertaining to leaves, workers' compensation, OSHA, and other state and federal programs.

The manager provides guidance on the interpretation of HR policies, federal and state employment law compliance, with the ability to manage all facets of HR.

Reporting to the SVP of Human Resources, this position is in a dynamic, hands-on environment requiring strong communication and leadership skills supporting management, peers and employees.


Education and/or Experience:


  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred or BA or BS degree and HR certificate or related experience
  • 3 5 years' experience preferred
  • Must have extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations including but not limited to: OSHA, ADA, EEO, Workers' Comp, employment law, employee relations, compensation, and benefits
  • Working knowledge of PC operations, including spreadsheet and database management and adhoc reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintains informational tools and knowledge of most current laws and regulations relating to FMLA, Workers' Compensation, PDL, USERRA, CFRA, OSHA, etc.
  • Manages workers' compensation cases including, but not limited to: documenting, reporting, and monitoring open and pending cases.
  • Maintains relationships with insurance vendors and clinics involved in injury evaluations.
  • Serves as cochair of companywide safety committee.
  • Ensures that OSHA training is completed for all employees and that all OSHA requirements are met.
  • Attends, documents, and reports any and all legal proceedings relating to worker's compensation or leave of absence claims.
  • Manages and facilitates ergo evaluations for office/homebased employees.
  • Maintains working relationships with various assigned internal clients.
  • Provides guidance on the interpretation of HR policies, federal and state employment law compliance.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all Company personnel; develops and implements new and revised personnel policies and procedures.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Keeps informed of development and trends in the industry to ensure that accurate information is being communicated throughout the organization.
  • Researches and draft guidelines, policies and procedures relating to human resources issues.
  • Payroll Management: Including but not limited to the collection of time sheets, calculate payroll hour entries, allocation of entries including allocation of all benefit costs by percentage, allocation of vacation, sick, and holiday pay accruals, administer wage garnishments.
  • Provides employee relations support, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and performance improvement counseling. Conducts investigations regarding discrimination and unfair employment practices, including, but not limited to those involving federal and state agency charges.
  • Collaborates with executive management to design services created to meet the needs of employees.
  • Demonstrates organization and planning skills necessary to handle changing priorities, and numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Must have initiative and be capable of independent thought and action, with good problem solving skills and ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Supports all Goals of the organization.
  • Other duties as directed by management.


The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $70,304 per year to $75,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.


The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
