PRIMARY PURPOSE:


To ensure the operability of all security technology by maintaining and troubleshooting video systems, EMS systems, safety software, and safety equipment for the district.

Monitor the district video systems and communicate with campuses, SROs, security guards, and other district administrators as needed.

Respond to incoming concerns received by the Security and Emergency Management department from video systems, EMS systems, safety software, and the Anonymous Reporting software.

Maintain security technology inventory and provide users with resources and access to security and safety systems and equipment.

Document daily occurrences observed while monitoring video systems, EMS systems, and safety systems and submit them in written or electronic reports.

Maintain confidentiality with all information in the Security and Emergency Management department.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum Education/Certification:

High School diploma or GED Equivalent


Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of Intrusion and Access Systems preferred

Knowledge of Video Insight System preferred

Ability to diagnose and resolve problems in security software and hardware

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong time management and organizational skills

Competent in basic computer literacy

Demonstrated skills in customer support

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, make quick decisions, and apply

established general parameters for security situations involving district electronic safety systems


Minimum Experience:

Three years of experience working with electronic security systems.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


  • Maintain records and ensure confidentiality of information about the Security Department.
  • Work independently under the general direction of the Director for Security & Emergency Management to maintain and troubleshoot electronic security systems.
  • Monitor district/campus activity using video security systems to detect emergencies and respond following established procedures.
  • Assist field technicians in the installation, programming, repairing, and maintenance of electronic security systems and equipment including all cameras.
  • Responsible for maintaining schedules, security levels, user access, and other databases related to electronic security systems.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for security software and equipment.
  • Assist district personnel in the use of electronic security system platforms on computers and mobile devices.
  • Assist with the Security & Emergency Management Department safety dispatch center that monitors and responds to safety system alerts, radio communication and the Video Insight System to offer real time monitoring and support.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
