Duties:


  • You will load and unload heavy boxes, bulky supplies and materials to and from trucks, hand trucks dollies, etc.
  • You will open and unpack cardboard cartons by hand and remove content.
  • You will lift and carry light to medium weight packages, materials, tools, etc. and place them where directed.
  • You will use a hand truck to move bulky but light loads.
  • You will open crates and boxes using crowbars and cut bands using shears.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a preappointment physical examination.
  • You will exert physical effort in lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying objects weighing about: 60 pounds occasionally; 25 pounds frequently; and 10 pounds continuously.
  • You will be required to walk, bend stand in place, crouch and stoop for prolonged periods of time and occasionally crawl under building spaces and climb ladders.

  • Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • This job has a screenout element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screenout Element for this position is: Ability to do the job of a Laborer without more than normal supervision including: 1) Following oral and written instructions; 2) Using a variety of hand tools to perform duties; 3) Lifting and moving lightweight objects
