Description

Working independently under the general supervision of the Associate Head of School, perform daily analytical and operational tasks of the Upper and Middle Schools' Registrar's Office Scheduling Unit to schedule classes and maintain the inventory of courses; monitor workflow to meet quarterly processing deadlines and maintain appropriate service levels.

Produce official transcripts and FERPA records. Analyze reports and initiate action to resolve data discrepancies. Collaborate with all levels of the community as Registrar and School Scheduler.

As a school scheduler, this position has a high level of responsibility and requires superb level of organization, management and effective communication.

The job of Scheduler is done for the purpose/s of leading with the development of the master schedule and continuously processing, updating, correcting all materials related to the school's master schedule and grade reporting.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years' of relevant experience (required)
  • Must be selfdirected, exhibit superb judgment, maintain confidentiality and be able to prioritize and organize critical duties. Elevate concerns as needed to supervisors. (required)
  • Ability to understand complex data systems while keeping abreast of technology advancements. Ability to analyze reports, interpret complex historical student record related data, detect errors, omissions, or data inconsistencies and to take appropriate corrective action. (required)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships. Including skill in negotiating compromises and resolving conflicts; ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, or hostility. (required)
  • Requires indepth understanding of all aspects of registrar and academic scheduling functions in a K12 school, including creating policies, processes, and strategies that abide by the federal and state department of education requirements. (required)
  • Must possess the ability to analyze, interpret and implement complex legal language as it relates and adheres to education records management standards. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling classrooms, labs, and other learning spaces in a secondary school. (required)
  • Expertise in compliance and the ability to interpret and implement the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), including student record policies and procedures and AACRAO guidelines for Registrars. (required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Student Records mainframe, Blackbaud K12 platform, programs or other student service/scheduling systems. (required)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to: define the problem/objective; identify relevant concerns or factors; formulate logical and objective conclusions; recognize alternatives and their implications. (required)
