    SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Finance Director, the Human Resources (HR) Administrative Manager will handle a range of responsibilities focused on facilitating daily HR operations. The ideal candidate will take pleasure in HR administration tasks, such as staying updated on HR law changes, policies, and practices; implementing compliance programs and HR policies, especially in areas like unemployment, leave administration, disability programs, and I-9/Right to Work compliance; executing routine HR programs like leaves, record-keeping, and utilizing HR software (ADP). This position is crucial in-person support for our employees and the organization’s growth, ensuring HR systems, policies, and practices adhere to federal, California, and local regulations as well as company guidelines. Ultimately, this role directly contributes to fulfilling LBDN's mission of offering high-quality early care and education to the children of working families.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

    Leaves of Absence and Accommodations Administration:

    • Manage all aspects of leave administration: compliance, communication, documentation, and coordinating leave details for employees and supervisors
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of employee leave regulations
    • Assist employees with leave concerns and provide compliant solutions
    • Facilitate discussions about workplace accommodations and collaborate on suitable resolutions

    Employee Support and Policies:

    • Ensure smooth hiring processes from job offer to onboarding
    • Align HR policy implementation with the Employee Handbook
    • Regularly update the Employee Handbook
    • Contribute to developing support programs for employees
    • Conduct workplace investigations following legal guidelines
    • Handle IIPP maintenance
    • Develop and maintain employment-related policies
    • Maintain effective communication with employees
    • Administer mandatory postings (e.g., labor law posters)

    Records of Employment Related Data:

    • Supervise employee file upkeep and documentation
    • Standardize HR processes related to compliance
    • Ensure compliance with I9/Right to Work documentation
    • Review unemployment claims, SDI, and EDD paperwork
    • Respond to employment verification requests

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS/BA in Business Administration or a relevant field; additional HR Management education is a plus
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in HR
    • Proficient in HR processes and best practices
    • Experience with HR database administration - ADP WorkforceNow preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold company policies
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience addressing employee queries onsite
    • Experience in a small department is advantageous
