Two Years in One.

It seems that the end of the year is around the corner. Time to finish some projects and make so many plans for the next year. But... wait a second... what year? My own year or the calendar year? 

Of course mine! This month is my birthday, and it’s my favorite day of the year!!!

This morning the Daylight Saving Time ended. Apparently we won an extra hour and the day is longer. But my point is not about the time, but about the way I felt today. I woke up feeling myself different. I felt that special enthusiasm exactly like the one that I use to have when I was a kid. Happy to be alive! Happy to be me! Joyful thoughts came to my mind.

I decided to take a picture, because I loved the way I felt. It was so special, it was so real!

And I thought: why not? Why not to share the way I feel right at this very moment with all my friends? No makeup. Kind of messy hair. In pajamas, but feeling specially content. 

There are so many good things in life that can be shared with sincerity and integrity. Right?

This year has been quite interesting. My life has changed so much. I’ve learned many different lessons. And I want to share some of them with you here:

To Stay true to myself. Sometimes it is not easy, but is the right thing to do despite all the “reasons” we can have to not doing it. 

To Speak the truth. Sometimes it is hard, not because I have things to hide, but because there are people that don’t want to hear it or don’t want to confront it just as it is.

That helping others is really important. Sometimes it seems like giving so much to others is not correct, but I firmly believe that helping others creates a better world. Behind every successful person, there are many others who have helped them to make their dreams come true.

To dream, and dream big! Sometimes our plans change, our life changes. People come and go. But there is always a chance to make our dreams come true, to be happy, and this happens in the most unexpected ways.

To be interested, not interesting. Sometimes communication between people gets difficult. The solution that I’ve learned to apply is to be interested, not interesting. I’ve discovered that it is much better to talk about facts, with honesty and sincerity, than talking about things that not always are real and sometimes are completely distorted. The truth will always be the truth.

To Love Truly. It is definitely the best part of me. There are so many ways to give love. Every time I have the opportunity to do it, I feel more alive. I love my family and my friends so much! I love life! 

No, I’m not old. I’m not young. I’m just me, here and now. Alive, present, interested. Ready for the next chapter, and yes, for the next year! :D
