This is an update to my earlier post on July 23, 2016. It has been a busy year for developers here in Savannah, lots of calls to my office.  We see recently completed 1.7 million square feet of space with many owners showing me their new operations. They all look great! I see right now that developers are adding 1.9 million square feet that will be available in 2017. Part of this new distribution space will include A&S Kinard Transload-Distribution Center.  A&S Services Group, LLC, is a premier provider of transportation, warehousing, distribution and logistics solutions focused on high-quality, best-in-class customer service throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest United States.  The great value add is that all of A&S Kinard Trucks are only 1 year old on average. The business community commitments here show that Savannah will continue to be a major cargo hub for the Southeast. I LOVE SAVANNAH. Recent reports from local commercial brokers say that Savannah has 46.4 million sq ft & 1.4 million vacant, about 3.04%. Much of current space that is available that are under 3PL domain who do not want to sublet.  New companies coming to town want to run their own facilities & thus the need for new space request's in Savannah is going through the roof.

I will recap several recent industrial news releases in the Savannah Commercial market:

• OmniTRAX- In March will begin building on a 2,700 acres industrial park that is 12 miles from the port of Savannah. It is a megasite with main line access to both Eastern Class 1 railroads, CSX & Norfolk Southern. KUDOS to Kevin Shuba-CEO OmniTRAX, and John Henry-Effingham CEO teams on bringing this project on line!  We are fortunate to have local leaders like John Henry here in Savannah!  The development extends Savannah's reach into the Midwest & Gulf regions, serving shippers moving farm/forest products, resin and chemicals.

• OA Logistics will soon open its 1.1 million square foot e-Commerce fulfillment center at Northport Park. this will create 300 jobs.
• SAFAVIEH- A well run rugs and home furnishing center is building a 500,000 sq ft facility off Jimmy Deloach Parkway.
• TPA Group is building 475,000 sq ft.
• Panattoni Development Company is building 312,000 sq ft in Garden City, Georgia.
• Port City Logistics has built a 250,000 sq ft facility.
• Nordic Cold- has opened its new facility April 15th & expanded it 200,000 sq ft.
• Georgia Marine opened 100,000 sq ft facility, 4 miles from Garden City Terminal, & has another 60,000 sq ft under construction.
• Pooler Distribution Complex has several facilities from 22,000 sq ft to 88,000 sq ft & 240,000 sq ft under construction.
