Positively frustrating

Positively frustrating

I have noticed lately as I expect you have that even the post that are positive or pro in nature have a hint or back ground of frustration and anger. Even when we are trying to promote good will and peace the color of the post or article is tainted by the amazing hate that is permeating the news and social sites.

Now I wish I had an easy 10 steps to peace and contentedness but to be honest while I have steps to peace and contentedness they are not easy. And that is the problem we face today. Goals that take time and effort are harder to sell or to promote, regardless of their success rate.

The steps to peace and contentedness are easy to write and even discuss but they are not easy to apply. Let me explain, each step takes personal application that is not a once and done step it is an ongoing personal conviction step. Each step takes effort that over time becomes easier but still requires effort. Let me list the steps so you can see what I mean.

1) Have Faith; now please understand this is not just faith is something it is faith in the all powerful creator of heaven and earth. The God who stepped into time to provide a way of escape from sin and death through the sacrifice of Jesus. This essential since without this faith the rest of the steps are not possible.

2) Forgive; forgiveness is the sacrifice of your personal rights, the right to revenge or getting even, the right to expressing your opinion each time you have been slammed or slandered. Indeed forgiveness is the sacrifice of your right to be offended.

3) Love your neighbor; take active steps to build up those who hold opinions that are opposed to you own. Take multiple opportunities to encourage people you encounter intending to improve their day simply because you have the chance.

4) Treat others as more important than yourself; remember that you are not the most important person in the room.

As you have looked at these you probably notice that steps 2-4 are the same, you are correct. Each of these are different sides of the same idea, others matter. Peace and contentedness only are possible when we actively remember and live out not needing to be first place. When we can rejoice in the success of others and not see it as a dig at who we are or our place in life we are content. When we look forward to others receiving due praise we are not enslaved by appearance or the need to have that praise. This freedom is obtained through relying of the power of God to provide our needs and acceptance. Yes we still need to do our best at work and interactions but it removes the demands of personal gratification.

I expect that many of you are more than a little confused by my explanation, which is the result of two things. Firstly my poor writing and inability to explain things well and secondly your confusion is due to the reality that as people we do not think in a way that places us in a stricter where we are completely dependent on something else for our security. That is why Faith is first, only when we are completely dependent on God or our security can we truly be at peace and content able to do our best and still rejoice when another receives the credit for their accomplishments.

When this is true and ongoing then when we write and speak our words can be filled with hope and peace instead of a backdrop of anger and frustration. Anyway I hope this makes sense and provides you some comfort in this world of turmoil.

Blessings

Greg Rolfe Pascal Derrien (part 2) Will I will … or will I won’t? … This choice is given to every human being “Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life … he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5) Will I will … or will I won’t? The most significant life decision that determines where we spend eternity At the end of the age there are only 2 groups of people: “Saint’s & Ain’ts … And we get to choose … Will I will … or will I won’t? ... “Believe” (I am writing a piece that references the “Missouri mindset” and will let you know when it’s posted ;~) This recent buzz-post is an unfolding of thoughts to get to the folks in Missouri :~) https://www.bebee.com/producer/@fay-vietmeier-pennsylvania/the-fractal-state-of-humanity-the-hidden-forces-at-work-for-you-against-you ;~) 2) “Deny yourself” ~Jesus That’s the really HUGE insight … especially in the culture of “self” The appeal to “self” is Satan’s strategy of choice … it worked in the Garden of Eden and to this very day Another successful weapon “offenses” … we are easily offended because we think too much of ourselves The Source of offense is Satan – “he who has eyes let him see” ~ Jesus admonished us

Greg Rolfe and @PascalDerrien Greg~ I'm glad to see this post well-read (Following are the comments I was unable to successful post-so I messaged you /beBee kept telling me my comment had to be between "1 & 2000 characters" ... which they are) Increasingly I observe that people see what THEY want to see and hear what they want to hear … this informs what they believe. Perspective is vital to understanding … life-giving or life-robbing To see … to perceive rightly … requires LIGHT If one is walking in the dark (even as the sun is shining) they do not know where they are going Who or what is the standard? The standard of "self-leaning is a precarious posture" (fem-v) … the foundation of “self” is as shifting sand God is the Ultimate Standard … the sure Foundation … our Rock The appeal to “have faith” … to “believe”... This is the turning point of a new life … “in Christ” “The old is gone the new is come” … now begins the journey of faith I grant that faith is belief in what is not seen (that is why its faith) “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do NOT see” (Hebrews 11) … There are those who WILL NOT believe … this is an act of will (including Won't & Don't) … There are those who want a “sign” (“signs” are very often unclear) … There are those who doubt. These folk are of the “Missouri mind-set: when I see it I’ll believe it” … this mindset is as prominent today as it was when Jesus walked on earth … Thomas, one of the “Twelve” was such a person It may be that Jesus included Thomas in His circle because this specific form of unbelief could be highlighted in Thomas’s heart-attitude I never cease to be amazed that an Infinite, Almighty, All-seeing, All-knowing, All-powerful, All-Sufficient, Omnipotent & Omniscient GOD created man in His image & gave us FREE-WILL (end part 1)
