My opinion

My opinion

My opinion

Do people care about our opinions? Now I used “our” to protect my ego, but the sentiment or question remains. For many individuals who have multiple social media channels, the answer is I believe they do indeed believe that what they say truly is important to others. And after listening to many I am not sure why they would believe that. But back to my actual post.

Placing my opinion out there for general consumption carries with it risk but also a little hubris. This offering implies that what I have to say matters and that it matters to you the reader. Why would I hold this opinion?

Has my previous post accumulated a response rate that would validate such a belief? Is my comment section full of agreement or validating replies? Perhaps. (Mine actually don’t.) But the fact is we post on topics not due to the belief that our opinion actually matters but more often because we simply desire to react to or offer our opinion on a topic. Which I believe is just fine. Though we must be ready for replies that do not in any way encourage the continuation of our desire to post.

Becoming upset simply because someone disagrees with us is a little arrogant. And while it may be true that the reply might be written poorly and without much thought, they too have the opportunity to place their opinion out there to be seen.

So, when I, we, or us choose to add our opinion to the ever-increasing thoughts on any given topic a thick skin is generally considered valuable. So, post with impunity and have an amazing time representing yourself. Because honestly someone just might truly enjoy reading what you have to say. As I have done many times. Take the risk but as you do so be ready for a rude reply or an honest disagreement.

Thank you for your time!

Blessings!

everyone

The idea of debate and different opinion is long gone, gasligthing bullying are unfortunately en vogue at the moment social media has often been bad but its getting worse by the minute :-(

“Opinions”

Can be as common as dust

But then there are occasions when the dust is fertile and worth its words 😇

Opinions matter and differing opinions can stimulate lively debate, but only when there has been a degree of thought applied to the process of formulating the opinion. All too often in SM we see the opinions of the masses blindly reiterated without actually contributing to debate and often, sadly, deteriorating to sarcasm and mud slinging. Just remember, Greg, that the most constructive support comes from ‘a pinion’. 🤣
