Isolation

For the last few weeks we have seen an increased outcry against this forced isolation. But to be realistic is it not just a symptom of the reality of our lives? Yes it is true our leaders have forced an outward isolation of a kind upon us, but has we not already created a style of isolation already?

The greatest amount of information and gossip is then and still is found on social media. People are still overly critical and very verbal when they are isolated on their computers or phones. Road rage was not invented by people on horses but instead when they were isolated in cars. Discussions get out of hand much less frequently when we are face to face but we are all very much a ware of the tirades that occur on most social medias. Do we not apparently have a problem with social bullying?

Isolation is not new nor was it created or enforced by our leaders. We created and have been using perhaps I should say abusing it for years. This time of forced physical isolation could be used for good if we will recognize the true dangers of isolation and the apparent desire we have as people to hide behind a mask when attacking one another.

Now please understand I am not saying social media and associated sites are all evil and wrong. My point is that isolation is not new nor was it created by our leaders. Yes I am saying that we should be aware of the issues that come with prolonged isolation and seek to curb them.

You have the chance to encourage someone today. Take it. You have the privilege of helping someone today, use it. Think outside the box of forced isolation and remember most of our isolation is very much self imposed. Reach out and make a difference.
