Is hate the new cutting?

Is hate the new cutting?

1b7f6903.jpg

Please understand as we move forward that I in no way desire to minimize or diminish the issue that is cutting. But I find that the similarities of self abuse and national hate too similar to ignore. Our nation appears to be focused of self destruction in almost all arenas. There appears to be no limits to where we are seeking to hurt our national self image.

In cutting it seems that self infliction is the way to feel anything or a way to express the conflict of emotions boiling inside. I have even noticed some who have taken cutting to the point of being proud of it and displaying it as a badge. Hate is taking on those aspects as well.

I am not saying we need to hide the frustration we might have with what we see in our nation but determining that the only response we have is hate I find more than just a little problematic. To be honest just as cutting is self destructive so is this continual expression of hate. They both block a positive outcome. While both of these are considered outlets for our emotions both are considered extreme and not productive.

Just to be clear my desire is to simply help us see an aspect of national hatred and what it truly reveals.

To those who are dealing with cutting I offer my deepest sympathy. Now are not the days to display our scars but instead to find away to heal them.

Blessings

Hello Pascal, I agree but are not education and understanding part of the healing process? True hate is binary and tends to color just about everything around it.

that's a metaphorically powerful statement , hate is a pretty binary sentiment there is need for education and understanding even before you guys start a healing process....
