I was thinking!

I was thinking, you may ask Why?
Because it gets the matter tinkering, if you really give it a try
It may or may not be a good place to start, but in tinkering it can open the sky
I have always been inquisitive: asking, thinking, challenging--and as an extrovert have rarely been shy
I wonder, I learn, and ask many questions: Where sometimes the click of the clock makes me think of how time flies, I have found that at times it even passes me by
And then again, as many may do, another way to contemplate focuses on the asking of Who?
To be content in engaging and discovering the you and the me, and finding some answers to the common ground of what we can do
Of the past and the present, of places and things, and people I know and those yet to be, it may simply be an attempt at grasping a clue
A collective whole of disparate pieces, when combined you and me its really quite simple, its answer converges to a global who's who
And yet again, there is that perplexing thing called What?
An example may be the blue planet earth, a unique kind of refuge and mankind’s little hut
Sometimes in our challenges we face mountains high, while others can place us in a deep dark rut
In facing life’s changes we can stick to the past or contemplate anew by keeping doors open or slamming them shut
Perspective can lead from our past to the future in the pondering of time and the context of the When?
To remember experiences and where we have been
In looking at NOW those seconds, moments and snap shots in time—Carpe Diem provides opportunity to seize each of them therein
Yet as simple or complex as this question may be; it may just boil down to how we play in our pen
Depending on our spot on this Earth, we may just begin by needing to know Where?
A reference to a place, either here or there
It could be quite real or completely imagined or a place of solitude or one we can share
In a relative cosmic sense, with billions of specs, this unique place called ONE EARTH, IS mankind’s shared lair
But maybe there is another way of walking the dog, by taking the leash to understand the mechanics of How?
Finding the answer can make us say wow
It could ruffle feathers and cause us to wrinkle our brow
But in asking this question and thinking it through, it sometimes leads to discovery and finding a better way—sometimes in the future or right here and right now
I was thinking
It started out slow as a method to grow, but inwardly I continued without even blinking
I tarried along with thoughts so many, I did so with fervor and intent to never succumb and never start shrinking
Whether intellectually you begin with why or start with who, what, when, where or how: just asking the questions may help you in life with your thinking and tinkering
So here is to you and your journey in time, keep plugging along with a smile on your face and always be winking
