Branding, Marketing, Sales and Service: Five Questions

Branding, Marketing, Sales and Service: Five Questions

cera XE TA =>

“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and
lying and greed. If people all over the world... would do this, it would change the earth”
— William Faulkner

I have asked the following five questions periodically over my career.

Originally I only used the first four questions in asking/presenting them to start the conversation and the fifth usually came up as a result of the ensuing discussion.

1) Who is your customer?

2) What is your product?

3) How do you deliver it?

4) How do they want it delivered?

5) Are you relevant?

I have used these in my work in government/industry/academia.

On the surface they are neither compelling or profound.  But, if you actually think about each, they become an interesting drill supporting individual and group reflection, focus, purpose and understanding.

When I have asked these questions, and specifically the first one I invariably get an immediate response. It is interesting to watch the wheels start to churn as one really thinks about the question and the response.

Or, if prompting/facilitation is required I ask the following question and then just sit back and watch the process unfold:  “Oh, really? Can you tell me why and then rethink the question?”

Ultimately the original response may be correct, but more often than not, it changes.  It is interesting to watch the process unfold.

Regardless of ones EQ, PQ, IQ,, your 16 potential personality types, or your 34 potential variations of talent: I submit the five questions for your consideration and/or use.

· I think you might find it a positive experience to walk through them individually for your own personal consideration and insight.

· I think you will find it a positive experience to walk through them as a group for your own approach to business branding, marketing, sales and service.

· I think you will find them a means for positive growth and interaction individually and within your organization to see the initial responses and then the ensuing and often lively discussions that follow.

I hope you find them useful.

Keep asking the questions.  I do.  And, keep making a difference.
