Position Title:
Events & Program Coordinator


Status, Classification:
Full-time regular, Non-Exempt


Position Summary

Working closely with Senior Management, the Programs & Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering events and programs on behalf of the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber, Impact Riverside County Chamber Foundation, and Murrieta Innovation Center which are of meaningful value to our membership and stakeholders.

This role will collaborate with fellow team members to bring fresh, innovative, and creative ideas and processes to the assignments to enhance the value and experience of stakeholders.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Program & Events Coordinator will contribute to achievement of the Chamber's financial goals by planning and coordinating Chamber programs, events, and activities, including but not limited to:

  • Annual Awards Celebration Dinner
  • All Chamber Mega Mixers
  • Economic Outlook Breakfast
  • State of the City (Murrieta & Wildomar)
  • Job Fairs
  • Franchise Expo
  • Evening of Innovation
  • Innovation Month Pitch Finale
  • Coffee with the City
  • Coffee with the County
  • Monthly Mixer and Networking Breakfast
  • Ribbon Cuttings/Grand Openings
  • New Member Receptions
  • Board of Directors/Ambassador special events (retreat, holiday party, other outings as needed)
  • Work within a provided budget for each event; provide an accounting of all revenues/expenditures; and ensure that an "actual to budget" is provided to the CEO/VP of Operations in timely regular interval
  • Manage, update, and track events on ChamberMaster calendar
  • Manage appropriate event committees with respect and tact
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate event timeline including advertising and sales promotion materials in consultation with coordinating staff.
  • Communicates updates effectively with the VP of Operations and Communications Manager
  • In consultation with VP of Operations, coordinates staff, volunteers, temporary or otherwise, to ensure a successful event.
  • Participate in annual review of events, determining whether events continue to meet Chamber mission and revenue goals
  • Coordinates annual master chamber calendar planning session for following year and maintains master chamber calendar
  • Other duties may be assigned by the President/CEO or VP of Operations

  • Strong understanding of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) Canva, and common social media platforms
  • Equipment**: Uses such office equipment as computer terminals, phone and voice mail systems, copiers, iPad, and smart screens
  • Must be able to sit and work comfortably at a desk station for extended time periods
  • Must be able to drive to appointments out of the office

Schedule:


  • Full time. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am5pm
  • This role will require occasional early morning or latenight attendance for member events
  • Occasional overtime depending on business and event needs to be approved by President/CEO or VP of Operations

Desired Education and Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Some college
