The VSD project is a collaborative effort between CDC's Immunization Safety Office and thirteen health care research organizations.

The VSD utilizes linked electronic health records to conduct observational studies of vaccine safety in different settings and populations, including near-real time safety monitoring for selected vaccines following licensure.

Over 13 million individuals are represented in the VSD population each year.

MCRI has participated in VSD for more than two decades, and the current contract will continue into 2027 when competitive renewal is anticipated.

The epidemiologist will function as a project manager, research collaborator, and key contact for VSD based research

The Marshfield VSD study team is housed in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology & Population Health (CCEPH). The study team includes a collaborative group of MD and PhD researchers, biostatisticians, programmers, and research coordinators.

Although this position relates primarily to work for VSD, additional opportunities may be available to work on other federally-funded and/or industry-sponsored vaccine research led by investigators in CCEPH.

We offer a flexible hybrid work environment with a combination of remote and onsite presence. This position will be supervised by the CCEPH Director.
