Agate Construction, an industry leading Heavy Civil and Marine Construction Company, is looking for a Marine/Heavy Highway Superintendent to join their growing team This full-time position reports directly to the General Superintendent and will be working on newly awarded project sites in northern New Jersey.

Responsibilities:
The primary function of the Superintendent is to derive and implement the work plan to produce a safe, quality project within budget and on schedule.
- Take Responsibility for implementation and enforcement of The Project Specific Health and Safety Plan.
- Have a thorough understanding of the Contract plans and specifications. Before installation, confirm that all materials are in conformance with the plans and specifications.
- Review proposed construction means, methods, procedures and techniques in advance with the Project Team and implement work in accordance to the work plan and project plans and specs.
- Hire and layoff union tradespersons as required by the work plan and schedule.
- Establish equipment needs for the project
- Review the job budget and establish the crew size, crew makeup, expected crew production and duration for each work activity.
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with the Client's project representatives in order to facilitate construction.
Qualifications:
- This position requires 5+ years' experience as a Superintendent.
- BS degree in a related field, preferred Civil Engineering/Construction Management.
Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
Pay:
$80, $160,000.00 per year
