Job Function

Manages public use of company lands in compliance with federal hydro licensing requirements. Builds and maintains facilities and provides parks education and services to the public.

Acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others, but is not a supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Work and Vendor Management Provides oversight and guidance to other technicians. Identifies, prioritizes and assigns maintenance tasks. Trains other technicians and contract workers in the use of tools and equipment. Provides task-related feedback on technicians to Supervisor. Performs and oversees general maintenance tasks. Provides oversight and direction to contract workers and ensures work is completed to specifications. Oversees construction, including instructing and monitoring contract crews. May perform or instruct others in janitorial duties.

Program Administration Oversees the development and administration of programs that support park operations and fulfils hydro license requirements. In coordination with other technicians, plans, schedules, and leads maintenance activities. Serves as a resource to other technicians and Park Operations staff. May prepare reports.

Assists Environmental Services employees in other departments activities as needed.

Safety Practices and promotes PGE standards, safety objectives and regulatory requirements. Ensures adherence by team members. Analyzes, reviews, and implements improvements to existing safety procedures.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education Requires high school diploma or successful completion of General Education Development (GED) test.

Experience Typically eight or more years of experience in parks, hospitality, resource management or other related field.

Basic knowledge of utility industry

Intermediate knowledge of worksite and local recreational opportunities

Advanced knowledge of maintenance practices

Advanced skills in use of maintenance and landscaping power tools

Working skills in using computers and computer applications used in department

Basic ability to read, interpret and apply policies, procedures and regulations

Intermediate skills in collaboration

Intermediate knowledge of requirements for documenting data and preparing written reports

Working ability to conduct on-the-job training and provide feedback
