    Backbone Project Manager

    Position Summary:

    The Backbone Network Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the organization's backbone network implementation efforts. This role is responsible for organizing and deploying backbone infrastructure plans. The right candidate will have a familiarity with network hardware elements including network hardware, dark and lit circuits, and data centers. Will be interfacing with an ERP driven product catalog. This position will collaboratively participate in efforts to create process efficiencies, process improvements and integration. We are looking for a Project Manager who will foster a culture of collaboration, open communication, and forward thinking.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Manages assigned projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
    • Develop systematic process for creating, deploying, and maintaining network infrastructure plans.
    • Coordinates between internal teams for project alignment
    • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
    • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
    • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
    • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
    • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
    • Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
    • Create a positive, high quality customer service experience for all stakeholders, both internal and external.
    • Assist in streamlining and improving processes by collaborating interdepartmentally and with other internal teams to identify areas of performance improvement.
    • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
    Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, required.
    • Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
    • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    Desired Skills:
    • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
    • Proven ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and identify solutions.
    • Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.

    • Experience in project management and driving process improvement.
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to effectively communicate, prioritize, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Drive.
    • Strong attention-to-detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines with thorough follow through.
