Looking for an energetic, compassionate, reliable and eager to learn front desk clerk which greets and communicates with patients/visitors while answering incoming calls.

Responsible for demographic, financial and insurance updates. Establishing good communication with other offices and clinical departments regarding mutual patients will be essential to this role.

Duties:

Provides support to the clinic by performing specific or various functions as assigned.

These functions are to include but not limited to:
Answering phones, Admissions/Intake, Collections, Insurance Verification, Posting and other duties as assigned.

  • Schedules appointments in our patient software, along with pertinent information and handles calls from patients/physician's office in regard to updated demographics information.
  • Answers phone in a pleasant manner and deals with patients/physician offices needs expeditiously. Takes messages and logs patient details for physician call back if required.
  • Completes necessary paperwork for patient registration and makes sure that referrals/authorizations are obtained from the physician's office prior to seeing the Doctor.
  • Maintains log for cancelled appointments.
  • Performs various clerical duties such as photocopying, maintaining patient information, updating financial information, sending/retrieving faxes and scanning medical records.
  • Maintains clean and neat front desk area.
  • Accepts and records patient cost share payments, prepare and reconcile daily deposits.
  • Strong communications skills with patients, including appointment reminders, confirmation, reschedules and delays while in clinic or over the phone.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; providing a status update on their appointment.
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

One year previous medical clerical experience preferred, Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Telephone Skills, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Scheduling, Word Processing, Professionalism, Quality Focus, Reliability, Bilingual in Spanish.
