Job Summary:


Central Processing Technician is responsible for performing effective and efficient decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of patient care equipment, surgical instruments, and medical supplies, in support of all hospital and clinical areas.

Working under the supervision and guidance of manager, supervisor, lead workers, and more experienced staff, will utilize knowledge and skills to work independently in all job functions.


Job Requirements:


Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Central Service Certification (CPSPD or IAHCSMM)

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Stable work record. 2 years experience as a Central Processing Technician

Special qualifications:
Successful completion of Tech I Training Objectives. Must be able to read, spell, do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions. Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure. Must have working knowledge of all department sterilization processes.


Physical Requirements:


Sit:
Up to 3 hours/day

Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours


Bend/Stoop:
Up to 3 hours


Reach:
Up to 6 hours

Rep Use of UE:
Up to 6 hours
Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment
This job requires the ability to hear alarms, clients and/or instruction. The ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Schedule:
Full Time - Temporary, Day Shift, 40 hrs/week
