Program Specialist IV
Essential Job Functions:
- (15%) Provides follow-up technical assistance and quality assurance to contractors, providers, and Administrative Agencies by direct observation, coaching, constructive feedback, and support.
- (15%) Conducts needs assessments and delivers customized courses in response to needs identified by supervisors, regional staff, local health department staff, pharmacies, area planning bodies, and/or other DSHS programs including courses addressing the needs of special client populations, clinicians, case managers, and outreach workers. Maintains current live and on-line courses available.
- (10%) Acts as training liaison with Administrative Agencies to coordinate training needs assessments and assist contractors in obtaining desired training and technical assistance through referral and/or customized curriculum in order to meet the needs of staff and clients.-
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
- Research methods used in developing assessment tools, curricula and program evaluation
- Adult education principles, principles of public health and program planning
- Audio/visual hardware/software needed to produce and deliver curricula
- Quality assurance and improvement techniques
Skills in:
- Translation of technical information into userfriendly language
- Use case development
- Strong communication/writing, and form creation
- Facilitation and training
- Curriculum development
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, contractors, and other organizations/agencies
Ability to:
- Disseminate prioritized information to network of users
- Research and write curriculum, contribute to agency policies
- Plan and organize work
- Adapt presentations to meet various audience sizes and knowledge levels
- Define specific goals and objectives to prioritize work
- Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures
- Identify problems and create logical solutions, analyze and interpret data
- Effectively set up training room (move tables, chairs, boxes of training materials, and audio visual equipment
