The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you to join our 3-year apprenticeship program as a train traffic controller (m/f/d) at DB InfraGO AG in Munich. The vocational school is also located in Munich.
Your workplace is called a signal box, from where you navigate the trains passing by. You control the train traffic in and around Munich using various techniques - from old mechanical signal boxes to modern electronic ones. You will work in a small to medium-sized team, communicating and coordinating with train drivers and control centers.
What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • Your colleagues will guide you step by step on how to operate the technology in a signal box
  • You will learn when to press the right buttons and switches, for example, to change signals (traffic lights) or switches (crossings for changing tracks)
  • You will often be in contact with other employees in train traffic control and control centers, as well as train drivers
  • You are an important part of our team and ensure a safe and punctual journey for our passengers
