Job Description
The Financial Aid Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of student accounts as it relates to the posting of scholarships.
In addition, this position supports financial aid processing to include resolving student eligibility issues, performing verification, determining eligibility for financial aid, processing awards including all types of student loans, assisting with awarding of general and departmental scholarship programs, and adjusting aid- including resolving overawards.
Required Qualifications
This position requires a self-directed person who works cooperatively, adapts easily and quickly, accepts responsibility, ensures a high level of accuracy with attention to detail, and thrives in a high-volume environment.
Knowledge and skill requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. Demonstrated proficiency with standard office software.
Must have proficiency in prioritizing and managing multiple competing tasks; strong communication skills, good public speaking and presentation skills; and the ability to exercise sound judgment in making difficult decisions.
Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a financial aid office.
