General Summary of Position:
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for assisting in the coordination of all manufacturing/facilities maintenance activities such that the business can meet or exceed all customer expectations by creating a culture of service excellence.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain safety, quality, and compliance in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
Assist with the maintenance of equipment
Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance activities
Responsible for corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance
Assist with facilities development with regard to capital planning, process improvement, justification, procurement, and installation
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of existing equipment and modification of new equipment
Assist management in the evaluation process when determining the outsourcing of maintenance, projects, and improvements to contractors and/or vendors
Partner with contractors and/or vendors as required to carry out maintenance, projects, and improvements
Operate, maintain, and record waste treatments, including ordering and inventory of waste chemicals
Assist with work orders, calibrations, and inspections as needed
1st tier support team member in emergency and/or unplanned shut-down and/or start-ups
General upkeep of the facilities
Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Trade School Certification or Associates degree in applicable trade
5 to 10 years of direct experience in a maintenance role
Experience with programming and networking PLC for automation and process control (preferred)
Experience with designing and implementing process improvements (preferred)
Must be able to work with hazardous chemicals
Must be able to work outside of normal business hours to support the business
Ability to work with and follow instructions from supervisors and/or other Facilities Engineer(s)
Knowledge of general maintenance and repairs in a manufacturing environment
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to think analytically
Prolonged periods standing and walking
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals
Meets or exceeds our internal and external customers' expectations consistently
Ability to be positive during difficult or challenging situations
