DESCRIPTION:


The Educational Planner & Outreach Coordinator, EOC Grant serves as the primary contact for postsecondary information for members of the EOC Grant.

Provides dedicated, primary case management and advisement for all participants in the TRIO Connections Educational Opportunities Center ("EOC") grant program.

Plans and participates in outreach activities and tracks grant participants' status and correspondence.

Works with Seminole, Orange and Volusia school districts and college officials to provide outreach, awareness and documentation of the implementation and management of the EOC grant.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Uses creative methodologies to initiate contact with and/or respond to college outreach requests from members of Seminole, Orange, and Volusia counties.
  • Plans and conducts presentations in Seminole, Orange, and Volusia counties to provide accurate, up-to-date information on the college enrollment process and financial aid for current high school students, GED students, first generation students, non-traditional students, low-income students, and adults without a college degree.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for EOC grant participants for all questions pertaining to the program and services offered.
  • Tracks grant participants in grant initiatives to document postsecondary planning and development.
  • Acts as a liaison between college resources and high schools providing valuable postsecondary information.
  • Works collaboratively with the Student Services office, Financial Aid office, Academic Advising office, First-Generation program, and the Career Development Center to develop and implement a comprehensive program that improves the awareness of the enrollment process.
  • Coordinates and facilitates all aspects of special events (i.e. field trips, summer programs and community events)
  • Provides academic advisement to students on a one-on-one and group basis and works collaboratively with participating high schools in Seminole, Orange and Volusia to ensure successful transition to college.
  • Provides input into the development of and support in the implementation of specific grant initiatives.
  • Assists with the data collection, data entry and development of the Annual Grant Report.
  • Provides reports and updates on upcoming and ongoing events to support the EOC Project Manager in grant compliance and implementation.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
  • One year of experience working with students in an educational setting.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in college advising, outreach, admissions, financial aid, or career development.
  • Experience facilitating presentations and familiarity with college outreach programs.
  • Experience with using relational databases including customizing and setting up queries, merges, reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong service excellence, public relations, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Skilled in the use of computer and related software including the ability to access, input, retrieve, and interpret data and provide reports.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to become proficient in Teams/Zoom.
  • Ability to work well in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a flexible and fast paced environment, exercising good judgment and discretion without close supervision.
  • Ability to use multiple modes of contact to serve the needs of students including face-to-face interactio
