is a charitable, not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization created by community residents to enhance and promote the economic independence and general welfare of individuals and families residing in Camden City and county.

This mission is carried forth in the provision of comprehensive services in child care, a senior adult center, programs for homeless adults, rental housing and home ownership, youth services, employment, economic development and associated programs that help people help themselves.


  • Respond, Inc. is looking for an experienced Office Manager. This is a part time position located at Respond's North Camden, NJ location. Hours are 8:30am2:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Oversees clerical and support services, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner
  • Completes, prepares, and distributes various forms and reports and documents
  • Responsible for Contracts Management including preparation, negotiation, analyzing, and review of contracts for equipment, supplies, materials, services, and products.
  • Evaluates and implements policies and procedures pertaining to business needs
  • Ensures that buildings, grounds, equipment, and supplies are maintained and serviced
  • Oversees the acquisition, distribution, and storage of company supplies and shared support services such as mailing, printing, and copying; security; and cleaning and maintenance
  • Creates and administers budgets for supplies, equipment, and contract services.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost savings, better efficiency, or other improvements; recommends and implements policy or process changes as appropriate.
  • Along with the Manager of Housing, monitors any construction or renovation projects to ensure plan requirements and applicable health, safety, and legal standards are met.
  • Prepares and reviews departmental, maintenance, and other recurring schedules and reports for accuracy and efficiency

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a highpaced work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Compensation:


  • Salary is $20.00 per hour commensurate with experience

Education and Experience:


  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor degree in business administration, business management, or another major preferred
  • Proficient in Excel preferred
  • Prior management positions with various types of businesses required

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to navigate to various departments and drive to various locations of the company, and elsewhere as needed
  • Ability to work at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
