    Role Overview:

    The Hartford is in search of a Senior Data Scientist specialising in Personal Lines to develop cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for various strategic projects within the company.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Create statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to meet financial goals and enhance the customer experience
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure analytics support the overall vision and foster a culture that values data insights
    • Lead modeling and machine learning projects in collaboration with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Performance Analysts
    • Identify and evaluate new data sources and analytic methods to maintain a competitive edge
    • Contribute to the implementation of strategies aimed at achieving business objectives
    • Develop expertise in The Hartford's structures, processes, and data sources in your domain
    • Stay updated on research methodologies and tools relevant to your role
    • Provide economic, qualitative, and statistical analysis for accurate business decisions
    • Bring best practices to guide Data Science and Data Engineering workflows

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Recommended 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
    • Proficient in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, Python, SQL, Unix, and Git
    • Experience with end-to-end modeling lifecycle and cloud-native environments like Sagemaker
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
    • Skilled in translating complex technical concepts into business solutions
    • Proven track record of leading project execution and driving innovation in quantitative techniques

    Compensation:

    The annual base pay for this role ranges from $106,960 to $160,440. In addition to base pay, The Hartford offers various compensation components such as bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs for employees.
